LifeStraw Personal Water Filter Versus Aquamira Frontier Water Filter

Hi everyone! I keep having it pounded into my head that too many survival-prepper people focus on food when WATER is the #1 most important supply we need. We can survive longer without food than we can water.

So I went looking at survival water filter straws and I noticed that an alarming number of people are skimping on quality and buying off price only – and that mistake could be literally fatal.

I wanted to compare the LifeStraw Personal Water Filter and the Aquamira Frontier Water Filter – two topselling water filter straws on Amazon.

Let me share my findings with you…

Well, let’s GO there since it seems to be a big reason why some people buy the Aquamira over the Lifestraw brand.

The Aquamira Frontier Water Filter is just $6.98 and it has free shipping if you have Prime. The Lifestraw Personal Water Filter, on the other hand, is $17.96 – also with free shipping.

So is your life worth $10.98? I think so, but let’s move on – because a difference in ten bucks isn’t worth the risk.

Length of Usage

The Aquamira filter only lasts 75L or 20 gallons of water. The Lifestraw brand filters up to 1,000 liters – or over 264 gallons.

That’s a HUGE difference. You’d have to buy THIRTEEN Aquamira filters to equal what the Lifestraw can do. Kind of cancels out those savings, right?

Health Protection

This is MOST important to me. The Aquamira filter merely reduces waterborne microbes – not by a ton, either – only down to 3 microns. The Lifestraw filter, on the other hands, filters down to 0.2 microns and gets rid of 99.9999% of waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of waterborne protozoan parasites.

With the Aquamira filter, you might be okay drinking from a fresh stream in America, but in a SHTF situation, or in a third world country, you are putting your life at risk using that filter.

The choice between the LifeStraw Personal Water Filter and the Aquamira Frontier Water Filter is all yours to make, but to me, I’m 100% confused by why anyone would by the Aquamira brand – seems like a waste of money and a hefty risk to take.
